Story Pins have landed in the UK
Story Pins are finally here in the UK! If you haven't got them yet you can apply here. Read on for what they're all about and how you can use them in your business
Why are they great?
Story pins do just that - they tell a story. So they keep the client/customer engaged with your content and staying on Pinterest longer - thus a deeper relationship with you.
But they don't click through to my website?
True - at present story pins don't click through to your website so lot's of people are asking why they're worth the bother.
Well, let me tell you why....
Story Pins are evergreen - unlike Facebook and Instagram stories - they are around forever. So your potential client or customer can keep seeing them if they’re searching for a problem you solve!
The Pinterest algorithm is favouring Story Pins and video content so if you play the game, you'll reap the rewards!
Word from the horse's mouth is that Story Pins are going to become an ad placement too so just like with Instagram and Facebook stories you'll be able to promote your story pins to a targeted group of potential clients or customers.
They provide a place where a deeper connection can take place with your client/customer.
So how's best to use them?
Here are my top tips:
Use video as the front cover to capture the scrollers attention fast
Make sure your lighting and sound are great
Do not repurpose Tiktok videos or reels - I've tested this, they just don't get out the door compared to your own creative
Use the in-app design features like text and stickers to tell your story
Make sure you include your keywords in your title just as you would a static pin.
Ensure you use Tags - these will get your content ranking higher and quicker in the feed
Done is better than perfect - even is you use animations from Canva or stickers to make your first frame into a 'video' it'll be worth it
Above all, make your life easier by repurposing content so you're not having to produce a reel, IGTV, video pin and story pin from scratch!
